Historic finish downloading...

Unless you lost multiple female surfers, major damage has yet to be done to fantasy lineups in the Tahiti Pro. The biggest news is the elimination of Caity Simmers who many had as their power surfer. The lone Tier A women's surfer is now Molly Picklum. Most managers will have a lot of men in the elimination round still to come, which will have major implications shaping this event.

The main thing I think we should all be praying for is that the WSL waiting until Wednesday to run anymore heats. The worry is that they'll try to run the women in smaller surf, and I'm not alone in hating that idea. Here's what we can look forward to:

And here's how the women's quarters stack up:

Brisa Hennessy vs Carissa Moore

Fun matchup between 2 women who can go deep. Carissa is a popular Tier C pick, and Brisa has a second place finish her last time here in 2022.

Caroline Marks vs Sawyer Lindblad

Defending champ against surprise quarterfinalist Lindblad. On paper Caroline should take this easily. But Sawyer was also an underdog in the previous round. Ultimately the rookie has a chance if she picks the right waves like her epic first round bomb.

Molly Picklum vs Vahine Fierro

The winner of this one will be an event favorite. Many managers (myself included) have both these women in their lineups. With Molly as my power surfer I'll still have a rooting interest.

Tyler Wright vs Tatiana Weston-Webb

We're guaranteed to have a member on the "Old Guard" in the semis. I give a sight edge to the Goofy Brazilian.

Ethan, John, and Gabe are all through to round of 16. But if you're anything like me, you have a lot riding on the men's elimination round.

Griffin Colapinto vs Mihimana Braye

Tough matchup between world number 1 and the trials winner. Would hurt to loose a Tier A surfer so early.

Cole Houshmand vs Leonardo Fioravanti

Experience and barrel riding skills favor Leo, but he was a no show in the opening round, and Cole has proved himself capable.

Jack Robinson vs Yago Dora

Another Tier A surfer in peril, against the current last place holder. Last year Jack knocked Yago out of the final 5 here, and he should be the favorite once more.

Liam O'Brien vs Ramzi Boukiam

Ramzi looked great in round 1 but lacked a backup score to advance. Liam has recently gained acclaim though his bomb wrangling during free surfs. Both men will need to focus on heat strategy to emerge victorious.

Jake Marshall vs Connor O'Leary

Both guys lacked firepower in round 1. Lets see who steps up.

Imaikalani deVault vs Rio Waida

Both men are capable here. I'd give the edge to Imai in the pumping conditions.

Barron Mamiya vs Matthew McGillivray

One to watch! Both men will love the wave size. If you think Matt is outgunned by the Pipe champion, check out his perfect 10 from a couple years back. Can't wait to see how it plays out!

Crosby Colapinto vs Seth Moniz

Barrel specialists collide! I picked Cros, but not confident either way at the moment.

Long story short, this could be a historic couple of days.

Is it too early to think Kelly could go all the way?!

Good luck to you all!
